A graveside service for Raymond Roman Cherubini, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 14 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Big Pine Cemetery in Big Pine, Calif.
Mr. Cherubini died March 29, 2005, at home. He was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Rome to Periche and Anita Cherubini.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Lone Pine, Calif.
Mr. Cherubini enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, gardening and Western movies, and was a great fan of John Wayne.
He was a Catholic and attended St. Teresa Catholic Church.
He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son Raymond Jr.; brother, Roman, his identical twin killed during World War II; and grandson, Brian Lowe.
Among his survivors are his wife of 62 years, Mary of Carson City; son Enos of Warminster, Pa.; daughters Margie Cornwell of Lone Pine and DeDe VandeBrake of Minden; sisters Anita Romanishoin of Millville, N.J., and Edith Genesio of Florida; grandchildren Jody Wakamatsu, Robert Cornwell, Katie Cornwell, Lisa Cornwell, Kenny Cornwell, Robert Cherubini, Teddy Cherubini, Michael Cherubini, Julie Cherubini and Kathy Peters; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
