Catherine N. Howland

Catherine N. Howland, 93, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, died March 30, 2005, in Carson City.

She was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Agana, Guam, to Peter and Delores Nelson.

She married Henry W. Howland. He preceded her in death in 1978.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in San Lorenzo, Calif.

Mrs. Howland enjoyed sewing and taking walks. She was a member of the Emblem Club, Hayward Chapter.

Among her survivors are her daughters Joan Wynne Howland of Reno and Helen Howland Glenn of Carson City; granddaughters Mary C. Alford, Roberta Glenn and Ellen G. Kirkeby; sister, Florence Hill of Hayward, Calif.; brother, Theodore Nelson of Guam and five great-grandchildren.

A service will be at a later date.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
