A funeral for William E. Neil, 67, a Gardnerville resident for the past three years, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Viewing was Tuesday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
Mr. Neil died April 28, 2005, in Gardnerville.
He was born March 6, 1938, in San Dimas, Calif., to William T. and Ida Neil.
He married Maryanne Neil on July 26, 1986, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Brookings, Ore.
Mr. Neil retired after 30 years of service with the city of Pomona, Calif.
After his retirement, he lived in Brookings for 14 years, where he worked at the Port of Brookings.
He was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church and the BPOE.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ernie Neil and Richard Webb; and sister, Mae Johnson.
Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; children Kari Joyner of Lund, Shelley Colantuono of Las Vegas, Cindy Velasquez of Santa Paula, Calif., and Tyson Pry of Portland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
A graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction, Ore.
