Jack W. Switzer

Jack W. Switzer, 84, a Reno resident for the past five years, died April 22, 2005, at Manor Care Health Services of lung cancer. He was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, to Willard and Ada Switzer.

Before moving to Reno, he lived in Carson City for 32 years.

Mr. Switzer was a retired machinist. He taught a class at Western Nevada Community College. He enjoyed bowling.

He served in the U.S. Navy from May 15, 1942, to Dec. 11, 1945.

Among his survivors are his wife, Janice; son, James; daughter, Jill Switzer; sister, Marge Hampton; grandsons Jason Switzer, Matthew and Dylan Depoali; and granddaughters Jackie and Jessica Switzer.

He donated his body to the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

At his request, there will be no service.
