Robert H. Wright Sr.

A service for Robert H. Wright Sr., a Dayton resident for the past five years, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the family home in Dayton.

Mr. Wright died May 14, 2005, in Dayton, after a brief illness. He was born in Huntington Park, Calif., to Delia and Harold Wright.

He graduated from St. Anthony's High School.

He married SanDee Ginsbach in Belle Fourche, S.D., June 11, 1988.

Before moving to Dayton, he lived in South Dakota and California.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot on the USS Independence.

Having a passion for the railroad, Mr. Wright was a chief mechanical officer on the Georgetown Loop in Colorado, CMO on the Sugar Cane Train in Hawaii, CMO and engineer on the 1880 train in Hill City, S.D., an engineer on the Burlington Northern and CMO on the Napa Valley Wine Train in California.

Upon his retirement, he was president of Wright Railroad Consulting in Carson City. He did some consulting for Hollywood film makers on steam trains. He then went to Chama, N.M., to renovate five steam engines before opening day of the season. His latest passion was the V&T project in Nevada.

He was an active member of Escurial No. 7 in Virginia City and Kerak Shriners in Reno.

Among his survivors are his wife; daughter, Cari Wright of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons and daughters-in-law Robert Jr. and Cindi of Cathedral City, Calif., and George and Olivia of Sparks; and grandchildren Ashley, Alisha, Abigail, Travis, Robert and Emily.
