Fred W. Goddard Jr., 79, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, died May 22, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Chatham, Ill., to Fred W. Sr. and Stella Bounds Goddard.
He married Dorothy Nov. 25, 1945, in Pompton Lakes, N.J. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Goddard was a printer with both the Paterson Evening News in Paterson, N.J., and the Butler Argus in Butler, N.J. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Pompton Lakes and a 25-year member of the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Among his survivors are his son, Fred W. III of Pompton Lakes; sister, Mary Ellen Watson of Florida; brother, Herman Goddard of Divernon, Ill.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be in New Jersey.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
