Carson City Firefighters responded to a single home fire just before 4 p.m. Sunday in at 2490 Lewis Drive.

Neighbor Malcolm Lepas said he noticed the fire while leaving his home across the street and saw smoke and flames coming from the chimney on the north side of the house.

According to Battalion Chief Richard Chrzanowski, the fire caused extensive damage to two rooms in the north end of the home and a hallway, making the home unlivable.

The investigation into the cause of the fire was ongoing.

The home is owned by Don Ragsdale, who was not there when the fire began.
