Bertie Charles, 95, a Minden resident for the past 17 years, died Nov. 5, 2005, at her home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1910, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James and Annie McNutt.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Torrance, Calif.
Mrs. Charles was personnel supervisor for F.W. Woolworth in Southern California, retiring at age 65 after 44 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James "Jim"; brothers Edwin and Preston McNutt; sister, Ruth Weber; son-in-law Marv Keeler and brothers-in-law Russ Donnelly and Phil Tilden.
Among her survivors are her daughter Marceline "Marcy" Keeler of Minden; son and daughter-in-law John "Chuck" Charles and Irene of Gardena, Calif.; grandchildren Ralph and Victoria Keeler of Minden, Steven and Carol Charles of Lakewood, Calif. and Susie and Randy Nesmith of Oak Harbor, Wash.; several nieces and nephews; seven great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; sisters Lois Richardson of San Marino, Calif., Beth Tilden of LaVern, Calif., and Delores Weber of San Diego; and brother-in-law Jack Weber of San Diego.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
