A memorial service for James Thomas McKenna, 67, a Carson City resident for the past four years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home. Please dress in casual attire.

Mr. McKenna died Oct. 30, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Modesto, Calif., to James Thomas Sr. and Jane McKenna.

He completed high school, spent four years as an undergraduate, and completed a master's degree in electrical engineering. He married Marcia June 19, 1965, in Hawaii.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Mateo, Calif.

Mr. McKenna was an electrical engineer. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League and the Carson Valley Radio Club.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Among his survivors are his wife; son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Kathy and daughter and son-in-law Natalie and Craig Nakamura, all of Honolulu; son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Gina of Manteca, Calif.; son Timothy of Newark, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Susan; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several extended-family members.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
