GOP ladies meeting for lunch Tuesday

The Carson City Republican Women have scheduled their luncheon meeting for Tuesday at the Carson Nugget, second floor. Social time is 11 a.m., buffet lunch at 11:30, and guest speaker, Carson City Manager Linda Ritter, at noon. Plan to come and hear all the latest on Carson City development. The CCRW will also be voting for their new officers for 2006. Members and guests are welcome. The cost is $17 and reservations must be made by Nov. 13. Call 841-3553 to reserve your seat today.

Donations will also be accepted for the Advocates to End Domestic Violence. Please bring your generous gifts of personal items and toiletries to be used at the "Safe House" during the holiday season.

Silver Sierra Adventures meeting includes elections

The Silver Sierra Adventures November general meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Nugget. New officers for 2006 will be elected. A presentation by a guest speaker from Gold Beach and the Ft. Bragg, Calif., area will discuss the upcoming tour.

The Christmas celebration will be Dec. 14. This will be a buffet dinner at John Ascuaga's Nugget followed by a tour of Idlewild Park's Christmas lights.

Blood drive Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community is hosting a blood drive from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 3000 N. Lompa Lane.

The bloodmobile will be at the church. To schedule an appointment, call the parish office at 882-1968.

Cuckoo's Nest auditions at BAC Wednesday

Auditions for Proscenium Players Inc.'s third show of the 2005-06 season, "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," by Dale Wasserman will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Donald W. Reynolds Theatre at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.

The cast includes 12 men ages 18-60 and four women ages 18-40. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A copy of the script is available for checkout at the BAC office for a deposit of $10.

Production dates are Friday/Saturday nights Feb. 17-March 4 with two Sunday matinees.

This production is directed by Gene Anderly and produced by Pat Puchart. Call 884-0580 for information.

After Hours Mixer hosted by Elks Lodge

The Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Mixer will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, hosted by the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St.

There will be hors d'oeuvres, no host bar, raffle and door prizes.
