A 22-year-old Sun Valley man is dead following a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.
Michael Harper, 22, of Sun Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck near Seventh Avenue and Chocolate Street in Sun Valley at 1:50 p.m.
Personnel from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team determined that the motorcycle crossed over into the opposite lane of travel and speed appears to be the primary cause of the accident. There was no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The driver of the pickup truck was interviewed and released.
