MINDEN - Deputies in Douglas County arrested one man following a house-to-house search Tuesday evening following a robbery at the Bank of America in Minden.

A man was seen running from the bank just before 5 p.m. Bank employees told officers the man was armed.

Shortly after the robbery, officers spotted a man running through the parking lot of a Minden office building.

Less than an hour after the robbery, Douglas County deputies took the man into custody after they found him hiding in a backyard doghouse.

Papers from the bank were allegedly found in the yard of the home where the man was hiding.

His name is being withheld until his identity can be confirmed.

At 7 p.m., police reported finding a bag containing a gun and a mask believed to have been used in the robbery near where the man was arrested.

FBI agents were on scene from Reno.

This is the second robbery in the Carson Valley this year, and the second in Northern Nevada in a week.

The Keystone Avenue branch of Wells Fargo was robbed the morning of Nov. 17. The suspect in that robbery allegedly said he was armed with a bomb and fled to Carson City, where he was arrested.

The Carson Mall was evacuated for two hours while officials searched the mall. A bag containing cash from the Reno robbery was found, but there was no bomb.

The Bank of America branch inside Raley's was robbed on Dec. 20. The suspect in that robbery was described as a 20-year-old man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds.
