Visitation for C. Ed Cox Jr., 81, a Sacramento resident, will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, Calif.

Mr. Cox died Nov. 17, 2005, in Reno. He was born June 3, 1924, in Linden, Texas.

He married Jordean Cox.

Mr. Cox served on the U.S. Navy Destroyer USS Case from 1941-1945 and was a World War II veteran. He worked as a civil engineer for 36 years at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento.

He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Soldiers.

Among his survivors are his wife of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law Charles E. and Shirley Cox of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Barbara J. and Bill Killingsworth and Bonny Vic Scheier-Fleck, all of Sacramento, and Carol and Jim Cox-McCall of LaJolla, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held Tuesday at Mount Vernon Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Reno Veterans Administration Hospital.

Mountain View Mortuary in Reno is in charge of arrangements.
