George W. Stone, 84, a Carson City resident for the past nine years, died Nov. 26, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born March 7, 1921, in Hartford, Conn., to John and Grace Tourtelotte Stone.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Zephyr Cove for 28 years.

Mr. Stone was a carpenter and worked in home remodeling. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and collected casino chips.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Among his survivors are sons Gregory of San Jose, Calif., Timothy of Carson City and Daniel of Irvine, Calif.; sister Jean Fontellana of Massachusetts; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

A private family memorial service will be at a later date.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
