The Sierra Nevada Ballet, in collaboration with the Brewery Arts Center, and the Carson City Redevelopment agency will perform the "The Peanut Cracker - The Story in a Nutshell" at 7 p.m. Monday at the Carson City Community Center.
The Peanut Cracker" is a short, 45-minute, narrated version of "The Nutcracker" ballet especially designed for families with younger children. The show will feature Sierra Nevada Ballet's professional dancers and apprentices, in addition to dance students from schools in the local community.
This version of the ballet was inspired by and written for the younger audience by Sierra Nevada Ballet's artistic director Rosine Bena.
