MOUND HOUSE (Staff) - A small brushfire scorched one-tenth of an acre in Mound House on Tuesday.
Chuck Ritter, fire prevention officer for the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District, said the call came in about 4:15 p.m. on Newman Lane.
"It was ripping pretty good when we first arrived," he said.
A power pole and three junk vehicles in a fenced yard were slightly damaged by the flames.
Because it was a wildland fire, Ritter said, crews from East Fork Fire were called to assist, but were told to return when the fire was quickly contained.
A worker dismantling a car may have sparked the fire, he said, adding, "But at this point, it's undetermined."
