A memorial celebration for Marcella Austin Stafford, 80, a Davis, Calif., resident since 1951, will be at the home of John and Darlene Doerr, 815 Braddock Court in Davis at 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Davis died Oct. 6, 2005, at home. She was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Sparks to Ruth Organ Hubbard and Alfred D. Austin.
She was a descendent of one of Nevada's early pioneering families. She graduated from Humboldt High School in Winnemucca at 16. She attended the St. Francis School of Nursing in San Francisco, becoming a registered nurse at age 20.
She worked in Woodland, Calif., from 1960 to 1984 as an obstetric nurse at Yolo General and Woodland Memorial hospitals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stafford, in 1958; and brother, Dale Austin.
Among her survivors are her son, Dave Stafford of Reno; daughter and son-in-law JoAnn and David Achammer of Golden Valley, Ariz.; daughters Janice Stafford of Davis and Judy Stafford of Dixon, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
