Robert Mark Cox, 85, a Minden resident for the past year, died Oct. 12, 2005, at home. He was born June 21, 1920, in Smithville, Texas, to Robert Milton and May Irene Keeble Cox.
He married Vernell Cox in 1945.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Angleton, Texas, for five years and in Goldthwaite, Texas, for more than 20 years.
Mr. Cox served for 23 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a lieutenant colonel. During World War II, he served as a B-29 pilot and pilot-training officer. He also participated in the Berlin airlift.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1995; second wife, Gaile, in 2004; sister Nettie Kizer; and brother, Gerald in 1987.
Among his survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Terry Barbee of Minden; sister Elizabeth Mize of Houston; grandchildren Jim Barbee and Lisa Lemburg; and great-grandchildren Lauren and Abby Lemburg.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
