Dancers host breast cancer fundraiser

Ali Baba's Belly Dance Productions & Comma Coffee will host their annual Think Pink fundraiser for Carson Advocates for Cancer Care on Friday.

As part of the World Dance Open Floor Night at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, they will be collecting donations for the cause.

There will be a raffle and silent auction as well to raise money for Carson Advocates for Cancer Care. Silent auction and raffle prizes have been donated by Hair Studio & Spear Me, Carson Jewelry & Loan, Kim Lee's Sushi, Beauty & the Beads, Vitamin Villa, The Bead Store, Encore Consignment and more items are coming.

Sign up to dance at 7p.m. and dancers start at 8 p.m.

This is the last World Dance Open Floor Night for 2005 but we will be back on the Jan. 20.

Reserve spot now for Roberts House Museum tea party

The Roberts House Museum will hold a tea Oct. 23 beginning at noon.

Reservations are requested before Wednesday. Cost is $15 per person and includes soup, tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, scones with delicious toppings, tea breads and desserts.

The museum is at 1207 N. Carson St. A new exhibit of artifacts and bottles found in the area will be available for viewing.

Douglas County

Watercolor class to be taught at senior center Wednesday

A watercolor class is scheduled at the Douglas County Senior Center 9a.m.-noon Wednesday in the Ceramics Room.

Cost is $15 which includes all materials and a completed picture to take home. Details, call artist Lada Trimble at 882-0601.

Seniors to take trip to Folsom, California

A bus trip to Folsom Outlet Stores in Folsom, Calif., is planned for Thursday for the Douglas County Senior Center Bus departs at 9 a.m. and returns around 8 p.m.

Cost is $8 per person for the transportation. Lunch is not included. Must sign up at the center as seating is limited. Call 783-6455.

Emergency plans to be discussed at Footprint meeting

International Footprint Association Carson Valley Chapter 72 will hold its next meeting Thursday at the Carson Valley Inn. Social Hour is at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Richard Mirgon, Director of Communications and Emergency Management for Douglas County.

He will explain what emergency plans are in place, what needs to be added and how we as individuals need to be prepared.
