A funeral Mass for Mary Figuerira Santos, 92, a Dayton resident for the past five years, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Ralph Greer Family Mortuary Alameda Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Santos died Oct. 15, 2005, at Highland Manor of Fallon.
She was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Hawaii to Manuel and Louisa Figuerira.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in the Hayward, Calif., area for 55 years.
Mrs. Santos had been a dressmaker. She was self-employed, and made alterations for various dry cleaners in the Bay area.
In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Santos in October 1993; sons Joe Costa and Larry Santos; granddaughter Vanessa Santos; and brother and sister-in-law Manuel "Babe" and Helen Figuerira.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Tony and Judy Santos of Dayton; grandchildren Nannette Brown of Santa Rosa, Calif., Nadine Vargas of Hayward, Calif., and Adam Santos of Sacramento; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a niece.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Nevada Chapter, 705 S. Wells Ave., Reno; or to a charity of choice.
The Gardens Funeral Home Crematory and Cemetery in Fallon is in charge of arrangements.
