Jennie Janakus, 90, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, died Oct. 16, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Chicago to William "Bill" and Anna Wilhelmina Hendrickson Janakus.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Los Angeles for seven years and then Chicago.
She graduated from high school and beauty college.
After a career with U.S. Customs and Naval Intelligence, Ms. Janakus opened a beauty parlor. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother Peter in 1971 and brother Nicholas and sister, Constance this year.
Among her survivors are her brother Stephen of Los Angeles and nephews Roger and Cheryl Janakus of Lemont, Ill.
Cremation will be at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Inurnment will be at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, Ill.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
