Dr. Price, who has taken charge of Bowers Mansion and intends making it a sanitarium of note, has certainly been hustling in the week that he has been on the grounds. A new steam bath has been constructed, hot and cold water placed in the house, the grounds put in order, and a crew of men are busy placing the fine old resort in shape.

The Appeal was advised this afternoon that a marriage license was issued today by the clerk of Washoe County to Mr. Jeffrey Springmeyer and Miss Leona Gordon, both of this city.

Births: Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sinnett of Carson City are parents of a boy weighing 8 pounds, 8 ounces born Oct. 20 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

The Pony Express (Riders) Club of Nevada held its 25th anniversary meeting at the Cliff Letarti residence in Carson City recently. This year is the 125th anniversary of the original Pony Express. In 1860-61, the original Pony Express riders carried the mail from St. Joseph, Mo., to Sacramento. Loretta (Majors) Williams was a special guest. She is a great-great granddaughter of Joseph Majors, one of the three founders of the Pony Express.

Historic Preservation Office invites applications from groups seeking to restore historic sites in Nevada. The biggest request comes from Fallon for $1 million, and in Carson, the requests include the Native American Great Basin Association for a $50,000 project at the old Stewart Indian school and the Children's Museum for $361,132.
