Crosstumblers gymnasts continued to improve at the Goblin Games held on
Oct. 22 in Reno.
Level 4 gymnast Emma Dempsey took the top honors for the Crosstumblers team earning second place on balance beam with a score of 8.825 and fourth on uneven bars with a score of 8.9. Dempsey also placed seventh in the all-around in her age division with a combined score of 34.525.
Also competing as a Level 4 was 9 year old Madison Foley. In her first ever competition, Foley did quite well earning a 9.0 on vault to receive fifth place. She also brought home a sixth place medal for her all-around score of 32.625.
Dempsey and Foley will be joining their teammate, Shannon Brazil, as they compete at the Nevada State Championships in November.
In the Level 5 division, Kayla Skog continued to improve as she placed ninth in the all- around with a score of 31.00. With this score, Skog also qualified for Level 6 although she will finish out the season as a Level 5.
Also competing as a Level 5 was Hayley Canfield, who finished in 14th place in the Junior Division.
Level 6 gymnast Michelle McDonald also showed great promise as she improved her all- around score by almost three full points to place fifth in the junior division. She also earned third place on beam, fifth on bars, and sixth on vault and floor.
Skog, Canfield, and McDonald will be competing on Saturday at the Monster Mash being held in Sparks in preparation for the State Championships.
