Camilla B. Gavey, 92, a Carson City resident for the past 35 years, died Oct. 25, 2005, in Carson City. She was born July 7, 1913, in Woodlake, Calif., to L. Brennan and Edith B. Noel Blackledge.
She graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, Calif.
She married Warren J. Gavey Jr. March 7, 1931, in Reno.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Mrs. Gavey was a homemaker and a serious painter.
She was a member of the Nevada Artists Association, a charter member of the Brewery Arts Center (then called the Carson City Arts Alliance), a member of Friends of the Carson City Library and a charter member of Chapter 403 Experimental Aircraft Association in Carson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband May 24, 2005; older sister, Ruth Martin; and younger sister, Docia McKennon.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Sallie Gavey Rasmussen of Washoe Valley; son, Paul B. of Copperopolis, Calif.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
