A memorial service and celebration of life for Clarence W. "Bud" Hubbell, 80, a Stagecoach resident for the past 27 years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, where he will be joined with his wife, Juanita, in a combined burial. A potluck and remembrance time will be at 3 p.m. at the Silver Springs Senior Center.
Mr. Hubbell died Aug. 26, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 23, 1925, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Lewis and Violet Hubbell.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943 and served in the Marshall Islands.
Mr. Hubbell worked as a pondman for the Santa Cruz Lumber Co. After several years, he moved to Cupertino, Calif., where he worked in the construction trade. He then moved to South Lake Tahoe to work with his son in construction. After retiring, he moved to Stagecoach.
He enjoyed people and bingo.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 23, 1998.
Among his survivors are sons and daughters-in-law John and Dorothy of Stagecoach, Lloyd and Cathy of Madera, Calif., Floyd and Becky of Dos Palos, Calif., and Bill and Lillian of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Stacee, Steve, JoRita, Dave, Ellen, Gina, Rob, Tanya, Greg, Troy, Alice, Vanessa, Michael, Rachel, Susie and Nicky; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Norma McAdams of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mildred Fassio of Soquel, Calif.; sisters-in-law and husbands Barbara and Lou Onieda of Jerome, Idaho, Carol Lee and Ralph Droegemeirer of Reno, Shirley Thorne and Beverly Klimes of Greenville, Tenn.; sister-in-law Millie Shores of Stuttgart, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Springs Senior Center, Silver Springs, NV 89429.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
