A memorial service for Erwin "Biggy" George Schnauhuber, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 17 years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Schnauhuber died Sept. 14, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 7, 1926, to Louis and Ida Schnauhuber in Germany.

He married Shirley Mae Anthony in Springdale, Penn.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Newark, Calif.

Mr. Schnauhuber worked for the United States Postal Service in San Leandro, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife in August 1998 in Carson City.

Among his survivors are his son, John, of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Betty and Joseph Readman of Livermore, Calif., and mother-in-law Wanda Anthony of Lower Burrell, Penn.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
