Dayton and Galena volleyball win

DAYTON 3, NORTH TAHOE 2

Dayton came back to win 12-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-15, 15-12 to improve to 6-2 in the Northern 3A.

Diana Rutt had nine digs and eight kills, Sara Simmons had 13 digs, four aces and five kills, Michelle Bowman had 29 assists, five digs, three kills, three blocks and one ace, Rachel Studebaker had eight digs and two aces, Gina Henderson had seven blocks, four kills and five digs, Kasey Armstrong had six kills and two blocks, Stephanie Greer had three blocks, Caty Cross had three aces and three digs and Melony Cox had four kills and four digs.

Dayton won the junior varsity match 25-13, 25-20 and the freshmen contest 25-17, 25-15. Dayton next hosts Wooster at 6 p.m. today.

GALENA 3, MANOGUE 0

Galena (22-8, 4-0) swept Manogue 25-15, 25-18, 25-16. Julia Mailander had 14 kills and seven digs, Lydia Mailander had 11 kills, eight digs, three aces and three blocks, Nancy Burrows had six kills, eight digs and four blocks, Thalia McCann had 32 assists, three blocks and two aces and Margot Ward added five digs and two aces. Galena won the junior varsity match, but lost the freshmen contest.
