The Douglas golf team took third place at Rosewood Lakes Tuesday behind strong performances from Reese Kizer and Troy Shields.

Kizer shot an 85 to tie for third overall, behind only Carson's J.T. Cockerill (74) and South Tahoe's Kevin Fannon (82).

Shields shot an 87, Wes Haskell shot a 93, Eric Guzman shot a 96 and Trevor Mitchell shot a 98.

Carson won the team meet with a score of 413. South Tahoe took second with 456, Douglas shot a 459, Reno shot a 462 and Wooster shot a 475.

"Our team score was good enough to finish third but we still think we can improve our numbers," Douglas coach Brent Eddy said.

The next tournament is at Silver Oak on April 25.
