A coating of ice left by a snowstorm overnight has left area roads slick.

Road controls are in effect for Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 at the Lake, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Controls are also in effect for Highway 395 at Jake's Hill south of Gardnerville to the state line. The California Highway Patrol is requiring motorists to chain up east of Woodfords.

There have been numerous accidents on Highway 395 and Interstate 80 in Washoe County. The Nevada Highway Patrol has not yet reported any in Douglas County or Carson City.

The high temperature today is expected to rise into the high 40s with partly cloudy skies.

The rest of the week looks clear until Thursday when there is a 20 percent chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service. That chance increases as the weekend approaches, but temperatures should hit the 70s by that time.
