Searchers rescue downed glider

A glider went down in the Pine Nut Mountains about 11 miles northeast of Minden-Tahoe Airport.

An injured occupant of the glider was found by Douglas County Search & Rescue and extracted by Care Flight Ambulance helicopter at about 1:40 p.m.

The victim reportedly had two broken legs.

The location of the crash is reported to be near Mineral Peak in north central Douglas County, not far from where Sunrise Pass Road crosses the Pine Nuts.
