Movies in the Park returns to Heritage Park for a third showing Friday, with the 1944 film "Arsenic and Old Lace." Heritage Park is located one block east of Highway 395 and Gilman Avenue in Gardnerville.

Movies for Movies in the Park are provided by Swank Pictures, which also provided the following movie review:

"Based on Joseph Kesselring's hit Broadway play, the madcap comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace" is a blend of the bizarre and mundane. A mild-mannered drama critic (Cary Grant) learns his two kindly and lovable aunts have been poisoning people with elderberry wine. Two murderers move into the aunts' house with the idea of adding a few corpses of their own."

Movies in the Park are offered free of charge by the Town of Gardnerville. The movie begins at 8 p.m. or dusk.

"Arsenic and Old Lace" is the third movie in the summer series. The next showing is Sept. 8 with the 2003 Disney movie "Finding Nemo."

The movies are shown on a 9- by 16-foot movie screen with a projector and sound equipment provided by the owner of the Adaven Hotel, Dennis Keefe of Alameda, Calif.
