The Fall sports season is rapidly approaching at Douglas High School.
A number of the teams at the school have been going through voluntary summer workouts in preparation for the upcoming season.
The first official day of practice is Aug. 14 with football starting Aug. 10.

Summer workouts and tryout information is as follows:
Cross country
Voluntary preseason conditioning sessions for the Douglas High School cross country team are scheduled for July 27, Aug. 1 and Aug 3 at 6 p.m. at the high school.
The team will begin nightly conditioning sessions starting Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. at the high school.
The team will meet by the tennis courts at the high school. For more information, call the high school athletic department at 782-5136, ext. 1015.
Football
The Douglas High School Iron Tiger summer weightlifting programs are open.
Players hoping to make the junior varsity team lift from 4 to 6 p.m. most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through the beginning August.
Freshman players will lift Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Players should bring a jump rope, shorts, T-shirts and cleats to the workouts and they should wear orange, black, white or grey.
Freshman practice begins Aug. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and runs at the same time Aug. 11.
The junior varsity squad opens practice Aug. 10 at 7 a.m. and continues at the same time Aug. 11.
Golf
The girls' golf team will conduct tryouts Aug. 14-17 at the Genoa Lakes Golf Golf Club Lakes course.
Players need their own equipment and must wear proper golf attire.
Girls' Tennis
The team will have tryouts starting Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Douglas High School tennis courts.
Boys' Tennis
The team will have tryouts starting Aug. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lampe Park.
