"The Forgotten Genre" is the theme for this month's exhibit at The Davis Gallery of Fine Art, which will run from Saturday through Sept. 14. Works on display will include pencil, charcoal and pastel renderings of the human figure, by artists Greg Drinkwine, Cynthia Davis, Randall Sexton and Nancy MacDonald.

Local artist Greg Drinkwine provided a live demonstration of a completed drawing, from start to finish, at the gallery on Aug. 12. Drinkwine shared his thoughts and expertise regarding the importance of drawing skills in creating fine artworks during the demo, which lasted three hours. Guests enjoyed an assortment of fresh fruit and champagne.

The Davis Gallery is located in historic downtown Genoa at 2285 Main St., next door to Genoa Town Hall. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, or by appointment by calling 782-0568. All gallery artworks are available for viewing online at: www.TheDavisGalleryGenoa.com
