Minden family enjoys bicycle built for three

The Costa family of Minden was captured riding their three-person bicycle on Aug. 7 by Bellingham, Wash., Herald photographer Philip A. Dwyer.

Peter, Inge and 11-year-old Carson Costa were on their way to Portland, Ore., along Chuckanut Drive when Dwyer spotted them and took this picture.

The family calls the bicycle made for three a triplet and told Dwyer they hope to ride the entire West Coast from Canada to Mexico on separate trips over the next four years.

Peter Costa was quoted as saying the bicycle was "the best way to see the sights."

Costa is a medical doctor who has a practice in Carson City and South Lake Tahoe.

Inge participated in the Ultimate Bodyshaping Course offered through Northwest Martial Arts.

The whole family looks like they're in pretty good shape in the Bellingham photo.

Recordcourier.com had a pretty good election night, posting results before most larger media sites.

We broke that the race between Dean Heller and Sharron Angle was within 400 votes and that Angle might be looking for a recount.

Most mornings I post a note on events of the day and local news on the Web site called the R-C Morning Report. I don't take a byline, because anyone should be able to step in.

Because the morning report is usually written in Genoa, it has a certain twist to it that might not happen if it were prepared in say, Minden.
