There is a red flag fire warning in effect from 11 a.m. today through 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Low humidity and winds gusting to 30 mph are predicted for both days by the National Weather Service as a weak low pressure system moves in from California.
According to the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts fire report, the chance of vegetation igniting is 100 percent. No thunderstorms are predicted to accompany the front, so there is expected to be little lightning, but there will also be no rain.
The last of Nevada's election results must be certified today. Then we will learn whether Sharron Angle wants to seek a recount in her race against Dean Heller for Congress.
If they do, they must come up with a check for an estimated $200,000 to pay for the cost of recounting the ballots. Heller won the race by 400 votes in the district, which includes every county in the state. Angle defeated Heller in Douglas County by only seven votes.
At least three automobile accidents occurred Monday. While it doesn't sound like there was much to any of them, they are a reminder to be careful. Late summer traffic is increasing and the heat has people sleepy. Be careful out there.
