The Minden/Douglas Elks Lodge is hosting a luau 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the lodge 1276 Pit Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation of the traditional roasted pig. Entertainment will include a Hawaiian dance troupe that will present the traditional dances and songs of the islands. Each lady will be presented with a lei from one of the several hula dancers. Following the show, the gathering will be entertained by Ted Medeiros and his group from Placerville, Calif., for listening and dancing pleasure.

The lodge will have two bars, one with standard libations and one for strictly drinks with the island flair.

Call Dave or Jackie at 782-3416 for you reservations at $30 per person. Seating is limited for this experience with the "aloha" spirit here in Gardnerville.
