The Genoa Lakes Ladies Golf Club conducted its annual member/member tournament last week.
Two-member teams compete in three flights to have their team engraved on the permanent plaque in the clubhouse trophy case.
The winning team in the best ball net event was Sharon Davis and Nancy Rollston (net 57).
First flight winners were Sandy Cable and Mimi Primm(58) and Judi Meador and Mary Panzer (64).
Second flight honors went to Marion Crouch and Geri Wilk (60) and Nan Fleming and Diana Mayring (61).
Third flight low scores were those of Carole Schenck and Barbara List (59) and Ann Findley and Barbara Wilson (60).
Also honored were longest drive (Del Newport), closest to the line (Mo Marshall) and closest to pin No. 12 (Mimi Prim).
Carson Valley Men's Golf results
The Carson Valley Men's Golf Club hosted a two-man team scramble Sunday at the Carson Valley Golf Course.
Jim Bagley and Russ Coons tied Donald Dick and Pete Rogney for first in flight A with a 58.
Brandon Goles and Mark Zinke, Charles Serafine Jr., and Bob McLean Jr., and Gary Schreiber and Jeff Schreiber tied for third with a 60.
Ed Kollar and John Kollar took first in the B flight with a 54 while Bill Centers and Ron Fukuyama took second, John Dorman and John Guidicatti took third and Jim Gaughan and Tom Betterton took fourth.
Mick Ryan and Richard Ryan took first in the C flight with a 57, Don Harrison and Marty Lane took second with a 58, Harry Quarles and Stan Sherwood took third with a 61 and Jeff Greer and Richard Boettiger took fourth with a 62.
John Miller won closest to the pin honors on No. 1, landing nine feet away.

CVMS girls' hoops tryouts
Tryouts for the seventh- and eighth-grade girls' baskebtall teams at Carson Valley Middle School will be Aug. 30 and 31 in the main gym from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Players will need to have a completed physical and proof of medical insurance in order to try out. Athletic information packets should be picked up in the attendance office and must be completed prior to tryouts. Eighth-graders who played a CVMS sport last year do not need a new physical, but should still update the information in the athletic information packet.

Junior golf clinic
The Carson Valley Junior Golf program will conduct a six-week program that teaches the fundamentals of golf including etiquette, putting, chipping and full swing. Of course, participants will receive plenty of time on the golf course.
Juniors will attend the clinic at least once a week at the Carson Valley Golf Club.
Cost is $120 and includes clubs, instruction, snacks, golf goodies and a certificate of completion.

Carson Valley Golf Club will also conduct introduction to junior golf clinics Sept. 9. Clinics cost $15.
A clinic for ages 5-6 is noon to 1:30 p.m., ages 7-9 is 2 to 3:30 p.m. and ages 10-14 is 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Nevada Lightning softball tryouts
The Nevada Lightning girls' fastpitch softball 12-under team is looking for experienced tournament players for the 2006 fall and 2007 seasons.
Tryouts will be conducted through September.
