Today is the day for Assemblywoman Sharron Angle to decide if she is going to ask for a recount in her race for the Second Congressional District against Nevada Secretary of State Dean Heller. If she does, she better bring her checkbook, because she has to have ballots counted in all 17 Nevada counties at as much as $12,000 a pop. But since Heller only has a 426-vote lead and it being Nevada, maybe it's worth the gamble. Should Heller survive the recount, the relative moderate will be hard to overcome by Carson Valley Democrat Jill Derby.
The high temperature is only supposed to be 85 today, and then climb into the 90s over the weekend. It was 44 degrees at 7 a.m. in Genoa, so maybe the cooling trend if here. Or maybe the needle is stuck again. It will be sunny with light breezes over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service, with the highs peaking on Monday at 92 and then cooling off to 81 by next Friday, maybe.
