A $500 reward is being offered for information on two burglaries at Valley parks sometime during the evening of Aug. 14.
Someone broke into snack bars at Stodick and Ranchos Aspen parks and took a weight scale, clothing, candy and money.
The reward is being offered by Douglas County Secret Witness which is encouraging anyone with information to call 782-7463, 586-7295 or Investigator Greg Rooney at 782-9926.
Callers remain anonymous. The reward is for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the perpetrators.
n Douglas High School was attacked by what appears to be Carson High School seniors over the weekend.
A deputy on patrol spotted a large sign hanging from the music room roof that said "Carson owns all 07" on Sunday night.
The words "CHS 07" were written on several windows using a blue-colored substance that came off on the deputy's hand.
n Authorities are seeking a 2004 red Dodge Intrepid taken from a Gardnerville Ranchos home sometime during the evening of Aug. 19.
The owner reported he came outside of his home and the car was no longer in his driveway.
Deputies searched the neighborhood, but did not spot the car.
A description of the car was entered into the national crime information database.
n A 74-year-old Minden man reported receiving a letter marked airmail that claimed to be from London East. It contained an updated version of the Nigerian scam, in which someone, in this case a Paul Clark, claims to have $23 million they need to park while the make their way into the country. The letter said Clark's father was killed in the present conflict between Israel and Palestine. The goal of the scam is to get the victim to send a bank account number so the money can be transferred. It included an e-mail address.
n A contractor reported two 200-foot extension cords were taken from a job site in Johnson Lane. The cords were described as 1.5 inches in diameter and gray. They are worth an estimated $400 each.
The contractor told deputies he believes they were taken to sell the copper.
