Northern Nevada Lifestyles with Terrie Q. Sayre travels to Genoa to learn about the Candy Dance, coming up Sept. 23 and 24.
The show airs Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Douglas County Community Access TV Channel 26 through the end of the month. Sometime mid-month, the channel will switch from 26 to 16 in Carson Valley. You can also view it at 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Additionally, the program runs on Lake Tahoe's South Shore cable access channel 19 at various times.
Douglas Animal Welfare Group vice president Laura Winking and DAWG volunteer Barb Begley introduce adorable, adoptable pets Emily and Chopper. They also explain Animal Awareness Day coming up on Oct. 7.
Mormon Station Historic State Park Supervisor Suzanne Sturtevant talks about the recent park expansion and Candy Dance activities in the park.
Tom Peters from the Town of Genoa and head candymaker Marian Vassar explain the history of the Candy Dance and give you local insight about the event.
Finally, Diana Borges shares information about Borges' Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides in Genoa.
