Despite pressure from several Republicans, including Assembly Minority Leader Lynn Hettrick, congressional hopeful Sharron Angle challenged the Aug. 15 primary election in district court on Tuesday.
The Angle camp claims that election irregularities in Washoe County cost her the nomination. Angle lost the election to Nevada Secretary of State Dean Heller.
Hettrick, R-Gardnerville, said he felt Republicans should move on.
"Unless it can be demonstrated that 800-900 people were turned away, there cannot be enough net votes to change the outcome of the primary; a challenge is just a waste of the taxpayer's money. We need to move past this election, support Dean Heller as the winner to ensure a republican victory in November."
State Treasurer Brian Krolicki of Stateline echoed Hettrick.
"The Republican nomination for Congressional District 2 has been earned by Dean Heller. Our nominee needs to focus on the General Election and keeping District 2 in Republican hands. Ms. Angle's efforts are misguided and harmful to this task. I support Dean Heller for District 2; Dean has my endorsement and my vote."
