Velma May Langdon


1917-2006


A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, 1478 4th St., Minden for Velma May Langdon, 89, who died Nov. 12, 2006 in Carson City.


Mrs. Langdon was born April 22,1917 in Terlton, Okla. to Walter and Icie Kaufman. A previous resident of California, she has lived in Minden for 17 years. She was married to Joe Langdon and was a homemaker who taught classes in color and flower arrangement. She was involved with Christmas Bazaar for 25 years, traveled the world with her husband and walked the Great Wall of China for their 50th wedding anniversary. She knitted most of her life.


She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Langdon in 1992 and her son Charles Langdon in 1958. She is survived by her son Tom and his wife Carole Langdon of San Jose, Calif. as well as four grandchildren Scott, Marci, Darla, Dorothy and seven great-grandchildren.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary with burial to take place at Eastside Memorial Park Cemetery in Minden. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.




Randy Scott Logan


1965-2006


Funeral services took place Friday, Dec. 1 in Lakeport, Calif., for Randy Scott Logan, 41, died Nov. 23, 2006 from a heart attack in Lakeport. Mr. Logan was born Feb. 20, 1965, in Springfield, Ore. He was employed with Contractors Chemical, Inc. for 3 1/2 years and belonged to the Laborers Union, Local No. 304. Previously from Topaz Ranch Estates and Douglas County, Mr. Logan had been a resident of Lakeport for three weeks.


He lived as if life was a party. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, football, and Harleys but mostly spending time with his children. Always a jokester, he liked to have fun and loved to meet new people and go new places.


He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Bobbi Logan; 10-year-old daughter, Michaela; 8-year-old daughter, Miranda; 7-year-old son, Tristan; all of Lakeport; and 22-year-old daughter, Christie Logan of Union City, Calif.; mother and stepfather, Joyce and Eugene Pries of Colorado; grandmother Helen Nevin of Oregon., Pop of Taft, Calif., six brothers and one sister, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many extended family members.
