The utility work along Highway 395 I reported yesterday turns out to be the installation of the Stephanie Way traffic signal. Confirmed by state transportation spokesman Scott Magruder, workers have 40 working days to complete the installation. From the progress of the first day, it may not take that long for them to finish. A call for a traffic light at the intersection was sparked by the July 15, 2005, death of 17-year-old Bridget Chambers.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a property damage accident at Highway 88 and Mackland Avenue at 7:43 a.m. with possible delays.

Someone was hurt when a Jeep rolled over on Highway 395 at Cradlebaugh Bridge Monday afternoon. The driver was pulled from the vehicle by a passer-by.

Something left a trail in the form of a sheet of ice in the southbound lane of Jacks Valley Road down Foothill Lane and then in the eastbound lane of Muller Lane. I'm not sure it was a continuous sheet, because after I slipped pulling into the intersection of Genoa Lane and Jacks Valley Road, I decided to avoid it.

Genoans meet at 7 p.m. tonight to discuss among other things the hiring of a new town manager. Before them is an interlocal agreement with the county to provide management functions and a modified job description for the job. Also the town board will discuss appointment and or applications for a Candy Dance chairperson. Town Board members meet in the town meeting room.
