A 45-year-old South County woman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, accused of firing a .22-caliber handgun at a woman and her two minor children.
Becky Lynn Kolesar was arrested Dec. 13 after the alleged victim said Kolesar fired three to five rounds at her and her two children after she went to Kolesar's residence to serve court papers to the suspect's husband and her ex-boyfriend, according to court reports.
There were no injuries.
The woman said Kolesar became angry when she arrived at the residence and fired the handgun at her and her family.
She and her children "fled in fear for our lives," according to the report.
The woman also said she was concerned about the safety of the man because she heard more shots as she drove away.
Personnel from Mono County, California Highway Patrol and Douglas County responded to the woman's 911 call.
Kolesar was jailed on $25,000 bail and is to appear Wednesday in East Fork Justice Court.
n A former Wal-Mart cashier was charged with theft, accused of taking $1,160 from the store's cash register.
Michael Dale Williford, 25, was jailed on $25,000 bail following his arrest Dec. 13.
He had been under surveillance by store personnel for several months after cash was reported missing from two areas where he worked.
According to reports, Williford admitted taking money three times.
He is to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday.
