Bates, Genio married in Genoa wedding

Matthew Bates, son of Robin and Vicki Bates of Gardnerville and Pamela Genio, daughter of Lemuel and Margarita Genio of Reno were married, Aug. 6 in Genoa.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of McQueen High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno. She works as a pricing specialist for Griffin Transport of Reno from her home in Boise, Idaho.


The groom was a 1998 graduate of Douglas High School and is currently the program director of KQXR-FM in Boise, Idaho, hosting the morning drive-time report.

The wedding attendants were Jessica Younger of Reno as the bride's maid of honor along with Heather Draper of Reno, Teresa Kim of Orlando, Fla. and Cindy Lee of Sydney NSW, Australia as bridesmaids. Cousins Gabrielle Looney and CJ Ocampo served as flower girl and ring bearer. The groom was attended by Daniel Warrell of Reno as best man, Scott Bates, of Reno, Jeremy Smith, of Seattle, Wash., and Stephen Kallao, of San Diego, Calif., as groomsmen.

A celebration with 150 of their closest friends and family followed the ceremony.


The couple will make their home in Boise, Idaho.
