The pilot of a small plane who was killed in a crash near Bodie Hills in Mono County was identified as Schurz elementary school principal Joel M. Hodes.
Hodes, 56, was found with the wreckage of his small plane. No information about what caused the plane crash is available.

The Meneley Elementary School wind meter is claiming a high gust of 38 mph in the Ranchos. If mine were working properly, there's no telling what some of the gusts would have hit.
The Valley is under a high wind warning that runs until 10 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Southwest winds of 20-40 mph will be the rule today.
We're supposed to get some rain today with the probability increasing tonight to 80 percent, but the radar shows the moisture pretty much stopping at the top of the Sierra and then getting shredded.
There's a snow advisory for above 5,500 feet for Lassen, Eastern Plumas and Eastern Sierra counties in California starting at 10 p.m. and running through 4 p.m. Wednesday.
