Editor's note: The All-Sierra Nevada Soccer teams are comprised of area players covered by the following newspapers: Nevada Appeal, Record-Courer, Lahontan Valley News, Tahoe World, Tahoe Daily Tribune, North Lake Tahoe Bonanza and Sierra Sun.

Lindsay Ford, 5-9, setter, sr., Carson: Ford stepped on the court as the starting setter her sophomore season and never left it. She wound up as Carson's team MVP and a second-team All-league pick all three years. Her leadership was particularly valuable this season for a team that included 11 sophomores as the Senators finished fourth in the Sierra League and advanced to the regional tournament.

Christina Baghdikian, 5-10, outside hitter, sr., South Tahoe: The senior was a leader throughout the season for the Vikings, as she earned all-league first-team honors. Among her best outings was a 18-kill, 21-dig performance against Wooster in mid-September, then had 19 kills two nights later against Douglas. She was a second-team all-league performer in 2005.

Jessica Waggoner, 6-1, middle blocker, so., Douglas: A dominant presence in the middle for a young Douglas squad, Waggoner finished her season as a first-team all-league selection. She was further honored as the Tigers' team MVP. Waggoner also starts for the Douglas basketball team and is athletic enough to have beaten everyone (boys and girls) during the Carson Valley's NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition in October.

Nancy Burrows, 6-0, sr., outside hitter, Galena: A four-year varsity veteran and three-year starter for Galena teams that won state back-to-back 4A state titles and won the High Desert League this fall. This season, Burrows moved from the middle to play outside and had had 346 kills, 273 digs, 83 blocks and was named High Desert League Player of the Year. Burrows has signed to play at Concordia College in Portland.

Kayla Lommori, 5-11, outside hitter, so., Yerington: An all-around and hard-working leader for Yerington (35-2) during its 3A state championship season. Lommori had 561 kills, 174 blocks, 142 digs and 37 aces this season. She had 26 kills and 11 blocks in the state semifinals against Lowry, then 14 kills and nine blocks in the finals against Faith Lutheran. Athletic? She was the state 3A champ in the discus during the spring track season.

Paige Olivo, 5-8, setter, jr., Fallon: A skilled player and court leader who stepped in as a full-time starter and improved as the season progressed for a Fallon team that finished third in the High Desert League. She handed out 361 assists and earned first-team all-league honors.

Siri Frey, 5-11, outside hitter, sr., Fallon: A senior leader and all-around player who earned first-team all-league honors for the Greenwave this season. She finished the regular season with 205 kills, including a 21-kill performance in Fallon's September win over Reno (Olivo had 49 assists in that match).

Jessica Woods, 5-9, outside hitter, sr., Whittell: A dominant force on the court who earned Northern 2A Player of the Year honors and helped lead Whittell to its fourth straight state championship. Woods led the Warriors with 14 kills and 16 digs in their win against Needles in the state finals. She had 11 kills and 15 digs in the semifinals against Lincoln County.

Kelly Karmann, 6-1, sr., Whittell: Combined with Woods to help lead Whittell's drive to four straight state titles. Karmann was Northern 2A Co-Player of the Year along with Woods as a junior, but this fall missed two weeks with an ankle injury and battled a right shoulder ailment all season - though she adapted and emerged as a solid southpaw hitter. Karmann has accepted a scholarship offer to play at Cornell.

Jordan Reeder, 5-8, jr., setter, Whittell: While Woods and Karmann were formidable at the net, Reeder quarterbacked the Warriors and was named first-team all-league. A standout distance runner for Whittell's state champion track and field team, Reeder showed her endurance and all-around skills with 32 assists, five kills, 10 service points and six blocks in Whittell's state tournament final against Needles.

Dena Helme, so., 5-8, outside hitter, Yerington: Helme was the veteran on a young team, a fourth-year varsity player who contributed 247 kills, 37 blocks and 25 aces to earn first-team all-league honors this season. The future looks bright for the Lions, who won a state title this season with a very young lineup (four sophomores started the state tournament title match against Faith Lutheran).

Madison Hardy, 5-7, jr., setter, Galena: A third-year varsity player (having played as a freshman at Damonte Ranch), Hardy stepped in as starting setter this season and emerged as a first-team all-league pick. She handed out 737 assists to go with 70 kills, 42 aces, 197 digs and 67 blocks (23 solo).

Colleen Carlson, 5-11, sr., middle/outside, Damonte Ranch: A three-year varsity starter (she played as a freshman at Dougas) who helped lead the Mustangs to the 4A state title in just the program's third year of existence. Carlson was an all-around player who rarely left the floor, wound up with 500 kills for the season and first-team all-league recognition.

Scharae Steel, 5-9, fr., outside hitter, Damonte Ranch: A strong jumper who plays taller than her true size, Steel broke into the lineup on the left side and earned first-team all-league honors for the Mustangs. She finished second on the team in kills.

Schariece Steel, 5-8, soph, utility, Damonte Ranch: A first-team all-league pick who displayed a keen eye for the court, whether she was playing in the middle or as a right side hitter.
