Carson Valley Inn donated hats and noise-makers and Don and Nadine Klestinski provided the music for the first New Year's Eve party ever at the Douglas County Senior Center.
The timing for the party was unique, not at the conventional stroke of midnight on Sunday, but instead it was Friday noon.
"A lot of them will be home (on New Year's Eve) just by themselves," said the center's activities director Linda Kyriakopoulos. "So, this will be just a little something to help them bring in the new year."
Seniors enjoyed the cordon bleu lunch at the center.
