Work should begin on Douglas High School's track in mid-March after Douglas County School trustees voted unanimously on Thursday to accept a $1 million donation from Big George Ventures.

The sports complex will be named after the company, which last fall purchased a 100-acre parcel of BLM land in northern Douglas County.

Big George Ventures is owned by dot.com millionaire Raymond Sidney, a software engineer who made his fortune when Google went public.
