Super Dog Saturday, an adoption event, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 921 Pinenut Road, Gardnerville.
Adoption day specials include free spay or neuter with most adult dog/cat adoptions, and a tailgate party.
"Come enjoy some great chili and other goodies. while finding the perfect Super Bowl companion," said Douglas Animal Welfare Group officials. "Pablo, Sheba, Cinnamon and many more are waiting for a good home."
The shelter has new arrivals. Angelina, a pit bull mix, gave birth to seven puppies, Tuesday. Angelina and her babies are going to need new homes when the puppies are old enough to be adopted. A waiting list is available starting March 1.
